Papa’s Homemade Ice Cream
For 1 Gallon
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cans evaporated milk
- 5 eggs well beaten
- 1 ¼ cups sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla flavoring
- 1 quart whole milk
- Rock salt (about ¾ a box)
- Ice (about 10lbs)
For 6 quarts:
- 2 cans sweetened condensed milk
- 3 cans evaporated milk
- 5 large and 3 small eggs well beaten
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 tsp vanilla flavoring
- 6 cups whole milk
- Rock salt (about ¾ a box)
- Ice (about 10lbs)
Mix in large bowl. Some like to heat mixture to an almost boil, and let it chill in fridge overnight.
Do not fill the freezer more than two thirds full of mixture to be frozen.
