Cheese Grits – Gourmet

  • 1 qt milk
  • 1/2 c butter
  • 1 c uncooked grits
  • 1 t salt
  • 1/2 t pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 c butter
  • 4 oz Gruyere cheese (grated)
  • 1/2 c fresh Parmesan (grated)

Bring milk to boil over medium heat. Add 1/2 cup butter and grits. Cook until like oatmeal.

Remove from heat, and let cool. Add salt, pepper, and egg (don’t have the grits so hot that they cook the egg!)

Add 1/3 c. butter and cheeses. Pour in 2 qt casserole dish, and bake at 350º for 30 mints to 1 hour.
